01Who we are

teskesoftware.com is operated by Teske Software, an independent software business in the Netherlands run by Damian Teske (“Teske Software”, “we”, “us”). Teske Software is responsible for the processing described in this policy.

02Visiting the website

teskesoftware.com is a static website: there are no accounts, no forms and no database behind it. When you visit, our web server automatically receives technical information that every browser sends, such as:

• your IP address;
• the date and time of the request;
• the page or file requested and the response status;
• the referring page, if your browser sends it;
• your browser and operating system (the “user agent”).

The server records this in access and error logs. We use them only to keep the site secure and working (for example, to detect abuse or investigate errors), and not to analyse or profile visitors.

For transparency, here's everything the website uses:

Because we don't use non-essential cookies or trackers, there's no cookie banner to dismiss.

Links to other websites, such as product sites or Shopify, take you to services with their own privacy policies.

04When you email us

If you write to one of our addresses, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and anything you attach. We use this to answer you, to discuss a possible project or support question, and to keep relevant business correspondence. Sending us personal data is voluntary; without contact details we simply can't reply.

Please don't send passwords, access tokens or other secrets by email. If we need access to a system, we'll agree on a safer way.

05Our products

This policy covers the website and email only. Products process data differently and have their own policies:

• StockByLocation (Shopify app) — StockByLocation privacy policy.
• Benzie and MyTripStories are in development. Each will publish its own privacy information before it processes personal data of public users.

06Legal bases

• Server logs: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.
• Email: our legitimate interest in answering messages sent to us, or steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement.
• Records: legal obligations, for example tax and bookkeeping rules where they apply to correspondence.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

07Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the website and email:

• Hosting provider — the server that delivers this website.
• Email provider — the service that receives and stores our email.

These providers process data only to deliver their service to us. If a provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards required by EU data protection law.

08How long we keep data

• Server logs: for a limited period, after which they are removed or overwritten automatically.
• Email: as long as reasonably needed to handle your message and keep normal business records, and longer only where the law requires it.

09Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, ask us to restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request a copy of your data in a portable format. Send your request to security@teskesoftware.com or info@teskesoftware.com. We may need to confirm it's really you before acting on a request.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority in your own country.

10Changes

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top always shows the latest revision.
